About Zoo Troop

Ages 6-8

Whether you embark on “Animal Adventures” or become a “Zookeeper for a Week,” all of these 4-day camps include exciting games and activities, art projects, and close-up animal encounters.

Zoo Troop Camp sessions run for four days (Monday-Thursday). Morning sessions are from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Afternoon sessions are from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Most weeks allow you to add an afternoon camp to your morning camp to make it an all-day session; children are supervised from 12:00-1:00 for an additional $10/week. All-day sessions are from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. All-day campers should bring a bag lunch.

Zoo Troop camps are designed for children who have completed grades K-2.

Cost:

  • Half Day for 4 days:
    $95 Members | $115 Non-Members
  • All Day for 4 days:
    $200 Members | $240 Non-Members
  • Camp t-shirts are optional and cost an additional $10 during check out. Each week of camp has the same t-shirt design.
  • If a camp is full, you can join the waiting list through the online registration process. If no waiting list appears, it’s because the waiting list is also full.

Wonders of the Night

June 12-15, 2023 | 1:00-4:00 p.m.

Super senses, like sonar and sight, allow some animals to come out at night! Find out what nocturnal animals do while you’re usually asleep!


Carnivore Keeper

June 19-22, 2023 | 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. (All Day)

Lions and tigers and bears, oh my! Travel to the top of the food chain as we explore the lives of the world’s best hunters and how we care for them at the zoo.


Zookeeper for a Week

July 10-13, 2023 | 9:00 a.m.-12:00 noon

Get a behind-the-scenes peek at animal care and enrichment as you experience what it’s like to be a zookeeper for a week!

Wild Things

July 10-13, 2023 | 1:00-4:00 p.m.

Meet many of the zoo’s wild things while also exploring the creek and trails for wild things you can find in your own backyard!

Pet Pals

August 7-10, 2023 | 9:00 a.m.-12:00 noon

Learn about pet care while helping take care of the zoo’s animals. Create toys for your pets and learn training tricks that will help you and your pet bond for life!

Animal Adventures

August 7-10, 2023 | 1:00-4:00 p.m.

From the tropics to the deserts, we’ll adventure through the animal kingdom to learn about animals that live all over the world!
