European Ferret - Lila, Aurora & Hazelnut
Mustela putorius furo
Range: Europe-domesticated
Habitat: Forest
Diet: Rodents, rabbits, birds, insects, lizards, frogs. At the zoo they eat ferret food.
Fun Facts:
  • Their strong smell is an attractant to other ferrets.  
  • They are intensely curious. They enjoy small, dark places. 
  • Their teeth are adapted for cutting up prey.
  • European ferrets are descended from polecats and not the endangered black-footed ferret that is found in North America.
