FREE Day at the Zoo!

It's a day to celebrate our community and the overwhelming support the zoo received after the flood.
M.A.D. Safari (Members Appreciation Day) - The best of the Zoo's Best
Thursday, July 11th • 4 - 7 pm
Activities include:
• Zoo Train Rides at the Depot (FREE)
• Greetings from live and costumed animals
• Animal enrichments
• Face painting
• Live music
• Specialty food vendors
• Prize drawing for a free year of membership
 Get ready to "Run like an Animal" - It’s the only time you’re allowed to run through the Lake Superior Zoo! Join people from all around the country as you “Run Like an Animal” and support the Lake Superior Zoo.
Choose How & Where You Participate:
• Run or Walk the 5k “Zoo Course” through the Zoo on August 3rd
• Run or Walk the 5k “Virtual Course” anytime/anywhere from July 27th & August 3rd
• Run or Walk in your favorite animal costume or as your beautiful, perfect self
All Registrants Will Receive:
• Our exclusive Lake Superior Zoo “Run Like an Animal” t-shirt
• One Lake Superior Zoo admission ticket- good for the day of your choice
Run/Walk Through the Zoo - Race packs should be picked up on race day between 7 am and 8 am at the Lake Superior Zoo. The Run/Walk begins at 8:30 a.m. sharp. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place for both men and women. A best costume prize will also be awarded.
In addition to the items listed above, all Zoo Course participants will receive
• a race day goodie bag filled with great things every runner or walker would enjoy (socks, food, bottle, discounts, etc.).
Run/Walk Virtually - Participants register like they would for the zoo course, but are able to complete the 5k run or walk wherever and whenever they like between the dates of July 27th and August 3rd, 2013. Get a group together and make it a fun outing in support of your zoo! Unofficial “bibs” are available to print from www.LSZOO.ORG. Submit pictures, stories, or times from your run to the zoo’s Facebook page. Virtual participants have the option of picking up their t-shirt and zoo ticket on August 3rd or having their items mailed to them for a $5 fee.
