Ride for the Pride 2008

Introduction

The Lake Superior Zoo's Ride for the Pride is a day-long, rain-or-shine, guided motorcycle ride and charity event aimed at raising money to benefit the new trio of lion cubs: Leo, Lily & Malkia.  Our goal is to raise funds to make improvements to the new lion cub's habitat at the zoo and enhance visitor experience.  Event costs will be paid for with the generous donations of local businesses and individuals so that 100% of rider-donated money can go directly to the Lake Superior Zoological Society to be used in a variety of projects benefiting the lion cubs and the Zoo.

Volunteers

Organizing an event like this takes lots of dedicated, generous people to volunteer their time and effort for a variety of tasks. If you're interested in helping us make this event a success, please contact Anita at 218.730.4500 or e-mail us at rideforthepride@lszoo.org

Sponsors

It is our goal to be able to use 100% of all rider and passenger registration fees for the new Lion Cubs, but there are costs involved in this event.  To cover these costs, we are looking for business and individual sponsors to make tax deductable donations.  If you or someone you know would like to be a Ride for the Pride sponsor, please download the sponsor form here.

Guided Ride Route

The Ride for the Pride Guided Ride will begin promptly at 10:00am. The 70 mile ride takes about 2 hours and includes a challenging section of road in Jay Cooke State Park. The route consists of a scenic tour out of Cloquet, past Big Lake, through Mahtowa, Wrenshall and Carlton into Jay Cooke State Park and ending at the Lake Superior Zoo. An alternate route bypassing Jay Cooke State park is available for riders preferring a more leisurely ride.

  • Alternate Route Coming Soon!
