Thank you for your interest in employment at the Lake Superior Zoo! We welcome all inquiries. Please note below that there are various hiring departments, depending on what type of position you are seeking.

All Zookeeper, maintenance and veterinary positions are hired through the Human Resources Department at the City of Duluth. You may contact them at 218-730-5210.

All guest services staff (admissions, gift shop & café) are seasonal staff hired by the Lake Superior Zoological Society’s Guest Services Department. We search far and wide for outgoing, enthusiastic individuals to fill our Guest Services positions. We need people who love people, just as much as they love animals. We look for outgoing individuals that enjoy variety and as well as a challenge in their work.

• All guest services staff are trained in all aspects of guest services including admissions, gift shop, café and train depot.
• Hours are flexible and the average work week is 30-40 hours. No overtime is allowed.
• Shifts are daytime only. All workers are required to work one weekend day per work week.
• We offer a job full of variety – from computer data entry, to dish washing, to driving the Zoo Train, to speaking in front of small groups of zoo visitors and more.
